Assigning Support Roles & Permissions
Define who has the authority to view, manage, and close tickets across your server.
Overview
Busybee uses a two-tier support role system: Global Roles and Category-Specific Roles. This allows for broad staff access while also supporting specialized teams.
Staff Permission Tiers
1. Global Support Roles
Set these on the main page of the dashboard via ๐ก๏ธ Manage Support Roles. These roles can:
- View all tickets (unless overridden by category roles).
- Use staff commands like
/stats. - Claim and close any ticket.
2. Category-Specific Roles
Set these within a specific category's editor via ๐ก๏ธ Category Support Roles.
- If set, only these roles (and Administrators) will have access to tickets in this category.
- This is ideal for sensitive departments like "HR" or "Billing".
Step-by-Step Guide
- [Open Dashboard]: Run
/ticket-dashboard. - [Select Roles]: Use the ๐ก๏ธ Manage Support Roles dropdown to pick your staff roles.
- [Save]: The roles are saved immediately. Staff will now have access to newly created tickets.
Reference & Configuration Options
| Tier | Priority | Access Level |
|---|---|---|
| Administrator | Highest | Access to all tickets and the dashboard. |
| Category Role | Medium | Access only to tickets in their assigned category. |
| Global Role | Base | Access to all categories without specific roles. |
WARNING
Changing support roles will not retroactively update permissions on existing ticket channels. It only applies to tickets opened after the change.
