Dashboard vs. Discord Commands
Learn the two primary ways to interact with Busybee: the visual dashboard and quick-access slash commands.
Overview
Busybee offers a hybrid interaction model. While most configuration is handled through a visual, button-based dashboard, daily ticket management and utility tasks are performed using Discord's native slash commands.
Interaction Types
1. The Ticket Dashboard
The dashboard is the "command center" for server administrators. It is accessed via /ticket-dashboard and provides a multi-page interface to:
- Create and edit ticket categories.
- Set global support roles.
- Configure logging and metrics.
- Customize ticket naming and welcome messages.
2. Slash Commands
Slash commands are designed for speed and are primarily used by staff during active support sessions. They allow for:
- Adding/Removing members from a ticket (
/add,/remove). - Moving tickets between departments (
/move). - Viewing team or individual performance statistics (
/stats).
Reference & Configuration Options
| Method | Primary User | Best For... |
|---|---|---|
/ticket-dashboard |
Admin | Initial setup, structural changes, and deployment. |
/add / /remove |
Support Staff | Managing access to an individual ticket channel. |
/stats |
Admin / Staff | Reviewing performance metrics and response times. |
NOTE
The dashboard uses Draft Mode. Changes you make are saved to the database immediately, but the public ticket panel will only update if you click Deploy Ticket Panel.
