Common Permission & Error Solutions
Resolve the most frequent issues encountered when setting up or using Busybee.
Overview
Most errors in Busybee are caused by missing permissions or misconfigured Discord categories. This guide helps you identify and fix these issues quickly.
Common Issues & Fixes
1. "I do not have permission to create the ticket channel"
This error occurs when a member tries to open a ticket but Busybee lacks access to the destination category.
- Fix: Ensure Busybee has the View Channel and Manage Channels permissions on the Discord category assigned to that ticket department.
2. "The selected ticket category is misconfigured"
This happens if a category exists in the dashboard but is not linked to a valid Discord category.
- Fix: Open
/ticket-dashboard, navigate to Manage Categories, select the department, and click ๐ Set Category Channel.
3. "Failed to generate transcript"
This usually occurs if Busybee cannot read the message history of the channel.
- Fix: Check that the bot has Read Message History in the ticket channel. Note that threads may require the bot to be a member of the thread to read history reliably.
