Placeholders
BusyTab resolves a small set of placeholders itself and hands everything else to PlaceholderAPI.
Placeholders work in header, footer, tablist-name-format, nametag.prefix and
nametag.suffix.
Built-in placeholders
These work without PlaceholderAPI.
| Placeholder | Needs | Shows |
|---|---|---|
%vault_rank% |
Vault or VaultUnlocked with a permission provider | The player's primary group |
%vault_prefix% |
Vault or VaultUnlocked with a chat provider | The player's prefix |
%vault_suffix% |
Vault or VaultUnlocked with a chat provider | The player's suffix |
%luckperms_primary_group_name% |
LuckPerms | The player's primary group |
%luckperms_prefix% |
LuckPerms | The player's prefix |
%luckperms_suffix% |
LuckPerms | The player's suffix |
%busytab_afk% |
EssentialsX | The afk-tag text while the player is AFK, otherwise nothing |
%busytab_tps% |
Nothing | The current tick rate with two decimals, such as 19.98. Capped at 20.00 |
If the plugin a placeholder needs isn't installed, the placeholder shows nothing.
%busytab_tps% shows N/A for a moment after startup, until the first ticks have been measured.
It averages the last 100 ticks. On Folia it reflects the ticks of the regions that are running.
Everything else: PlaceholderAPI
Any other %...% placeholder goes to PlaceholderAPI. That includes four placeholders in the
default config:
%player_name%and%player_ping%(Player expansion)%server_online%and%server_max_players%(Server expansion)
Without PlaceholderAPI, or without the expansion that provides a placeholder, the raw text such
as %player_name% is shown. See PlaceholderAPI.
Order of replacement
Each line is processed in this order on every refresh:
%vault_...%%luckperms_...%%busytab_afk%%busytab_tps%- Whatever is left, through PlaceholderAPI
The LuckPerms placeholders in the table are always answered by BusyTab, even when the LuckPerms
PlaceholderAPI expansion is installed. Other %luckperms_...% placeholders still reach
PlaceholderAPI.
The rank used for sorting
Sorting does not depend on which placeholder you display. See Rank Sorting.
