Quick Start
From a fresh install to your first ripple catch in a few minutes.
1. Install
Put Dreamlight Fishing, Fabric API and GeckoLib in your mods folder and launch the Fabric
profile. On a server, the same three jars go on the server and every client. See
Installation for the details.
2. Find a ripple
Grab any fishing rod and walk up to a lake shore or coastline. Ripples spawn in open, still water near land: look for rings on the surface with bubbles and splashes around them. Their colour tells you the tier:
| Colour | Tier |
|---|---|
| ๐ต Blue | Common |
| ๐ข Green | Rare |
| ๐ Orange | Epic |
A fourth, gold tier unlocks once your journal is complete. See Ripples & Rarity.
Small enclosed ponds produce very few ripples. Wide water next to land is best.
3. Cast and hit the rings
Cast your bobber into the ripple. After two to five seconds a fish bites and a ring starts closing
in on a fixed target ring. Click (Use or Attack) when the text turns green and reads
CLICK NOW!. Common ripples need 2 hits in a row.
4. Reel it in
After the last hit, a Tension bar and a Progress bar appear. Hold Use to reel and
let go before the tension bar fills. Fill progress to 100% and the fish is yours. The catch,
its size and any [NEW SPECIES!] tag show above your hotbar.
5. Open your journal
Press J to open the Fishing Journal and see what you've caught so far. Catch every species to earn the milestone rewards. See Fishing Journal.
