Advancements

Dreamlight Fishing adds its own Dreamlight Fishing advancement tab, using the vanilla advancement screen and toasts.

Advancement Id How to earn it Requires

"Gone Fishin'" needs an actual fish species. A ripple catch that only gave junk or treasure doesn't count. The other catch advancements count any landed ripple catch.

The biome advancements use the journal's tabs: Ocean is Ocean Pearl and Large Fish, Swamp is Algae and Catfish, Jungle is Exotic Fish and River Piranha.

The advancements give no rewards of their own. The completion rewards are the journal milestones.

Criteria for data packs

The tab is plain advancement JSON under data/ddv_fishing/advancement/, so a data pack can override it or build its own on top. These criterion triggers are available:

Trigger Conditions Fires when
ddv_fishing:first_catch none A player catches their first fish species.
ddv_fishing:first_perfect_catch none A Perfect Catch lands.
ddv_fishing:first_epic_ripple none A catch from an Epic ripple lands.
ddv_fishing:first_legendary_ripple none A catch from a Legendary ripple lands.
ddv_fishing:biome_complete biome: ocean, swamp or jungle Every species filed under that biome has been caught.
ddv_fishing:journal_complete none The journal reaches 100%.
