Introduction

Cozy, skill-based fishing for Minecraft, inspired by Disney Dreamlight Valley. Dreamlight Fishing is a Fabric mod for 1.21.11 that replaces wait-and-click fishing with colour-coded ripples on the water, a timing minigame and a tension-based reeling fight. Every catch is logged in a fishing journal with its size, and filling that journal unlocks rewards, advancements and a Legendary ripple tier.

Plain water still fishes exactly like vanilla. The minigame only starts when you cast into a ripple, and any fishing rod works, including vanilla's and other mods' rods.

Key features

  • Fishing ripples: animated hotspots in open water, coloured blue (Common), green (Rare), orange (Epic) and gold (Legendary).
  • Timing minigame: hit a closing ring as it crosses the target. Higher tiers need more hits and close faster.
  • Reeling fight: hold to reel, release to ease off. Let tension max out and the line snaps.
  • Perfect Catches: land every hit dead centre for double loot, bonus XP and bigger fish.
  • Biome-aware loot: ocean, swamp and jungle water roll their own tables, with six fish found nowhere else.
  • Fishing journal: every species you've caught, its biggest size, how many times and when you first landed it.
  • Milestone rewards at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% journal completion, ending in the Legendary tier and the Legendary Dreamlight Fishing Rod.
  • Advancements: a full Dreamlight Fishing advancement tab.
  • Data-driven: loot tables and fish species are plain data pack JSON, so you can retune or add to both.
