Ripples & Rarity
Understand the different types of fishing spots and how to find the best loot.
Fishing Ripples
Ripples are dynamic entities that spawn in open water near players. They represent active schools of fish and are the only places where you can engage in the rhythm minigame.
Rarity Tiers
There are three tiers of ripples, each with its own difficulty and reward profile:
| Tier | Visual Cue | Hits Required | Speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | White bubbles | 2 Hits | Slow |
| Rare | Blue sparkles | 3 Hits | Medium |
| Epic | Gold sparkles | 4 Hits | Fast |
Factors Affecting Rarity
- Natural Luck: Ripples have a weighted chance to spawn as Rare or Epic.
- Player Luck: Having the Luck effect (e.g., from potions) or Luck of the Sea on your rod increases the chance of higher rarity ripples spawning near you.
Weather Effects
Rain and thunderstorms don't just change the atmosphere—they also affect the fish!
- Increased Difficulty: Minigame rings may shrink faster during storms.
- Better Rewards: Some rare fish are more likely to be caught during specific weather conditions.
